Modern gaming speed with an RGB splash. - ASUS makes setup easy with its GS-BE7200X Dual-Band Wi-Fi 7 router, especially if you’re upgrading an existing router, adding a new primary router, or adding a node to an existing network. The ASUS Router app makes the process straightforward and lets you manage your router from your phone. Setting up separate networks for different groups of devices is easy using the ASUS Router app or a web browser. You can quickly establish a dedicated IoT network on the 2.4 GHz band for your smart-home devices. Not every device in your home requires full access to your network. For gamers, Game Acceleration offers custom settings for popular games. You can also enable the mobile gaming option from your phone to prioritize that device’s traffic. The exterior is a nice touch for an object that typically gets hidden behind a wall or at the back of an entertainment system. This unit has a unique look, with a raised ridge running diagonally across the outer casing and a splash of RGB to match your tower. Performance, security, and convenience come together in a compact, attractive package.

Quick, easy, and FAST - WiFi router technology changes so quickly so I’m always looking for ways to make my home network more efficient and faster. This router being made for gamers, fits the bill for me and has been a huge game changer. I used to think the router didn’t matter as much as the internet service you were paying for, but man was I wrong. I already have fiber internet, so I assumed my internet speeds would be reflective of that and already be pretty high. Changing to this router changed my mind completely. It was an instant upgrade in speed and bandwidth. I have everything from security camera’s to iPads, Apple TVs, Firestick, and cell phones connected to my network and this has handled it perfectly. No more lagging and pixelation on my work calls, and gaming has noticeably improved! Setup was simple, and by simple I mean it probably took 5 minutes and it was working and we were back to streaming and working. Everyone knows that nowadays if the internet goes down, everything stops in your home. So I was excited that I was set up and working so quickly. I’m always happy with my Asus products and this is no exception

Stellar upgrade in perfornance - I tend to be more involved in my networking build than most tech enthusiasts. I built my home network from the ground up and wanted ethernet ports all over the house. I looked at what was available at the time and it was not as easy to piece together devices based on performance or network needs. It is nice that ASUS focuses many of its features on gaming and optimal performance. On top of that, they make it really easy to setup and manage your whole network from a app or webpage. Who doesn't want a fast and reliable network that you can simply set it and forget it or be more involved with monitoring? WiFi 7, with speeds of up to 7.2 Gbps. With 16.5 dedicated wired Ethernet port speeds (10g WAN, 2.5 LAN, and 4x 1g LAN). I could stop here and say I would be impressed with these features for gaming but ASUS steps it up. Here is where I think this gaming router shines. -Dedicated gaming ports that prioritize gaming traffic -4g/5g mobile tethering that is useful in the event of a internet outage or when traveling -Smart Home Master - Assists with network setups for IOT devices, gaming devices, kid's devices, and even a MLO network setup -ASUS ROG Aura RGB lighting is configurable. Game on in style where you would actually want to showcase this router on your desk proudly Get this if you are looking for prime gaming performance and overall high network bandwidth. This is for the gamer and/or work from home parent with many devices on the same network where you can prioritize your devices.

Excellent gaming router - The Asus ROG Strix GS-BE7200X is the first gaming router I have owned that doesn’t look ridiculous, or like it needs to be hidden away. There are no external antennas sticking out; there is just a clean box-shape with some RGB that can be toned down or left off. I put it out in the open next to my PC and it doesn’t stand out as a gaming router or as a router period. Out of the box, the unit has the following ports: one 10G WAN, a dedicated 2.5G gaming LAN port, four regular 1G LAN ports, and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 for storage or a 5G dongle if you ever need it (you can charge a device with this port, too). Up top there are the usual buttons for power, WPS, and reset. There isn't anything fancy, but everything you actually need is there and easy to reach. I currently have a decent router in my opinion but the jump to the Asus ROG Strix GS-BE7200X is noticeable. On 5 GHz, I regularly get close to a gigabit and still get solid speed a couple of rooms/walls away. If you can use the router wired, the 10G WAN and the dedicated 2.5G port means that devices like my computers and PS5 aren’t fighting for speed over a single gigabit link. With telemetry on, the ping for my games stays low and stable even when the rest of the house is streaming. And the gaming prioritization technology is worth using. Setup was painless through the app. AiProtection is free, and the typical ASUS extras you would expect, like a separate network for guests and a mobile game mode, are all there if you need them. There are some aspects that I do with were better for a modern router. There is no 6 GHz band for Wi-fi, so if you specifically want that spectrum you will need a different router. And as I listed above, there is only one 2.5G LAN port but that is only an issue if you have several high-speed wired devices that you want to have that speed at the same time (you can still use the 1G ports). I feel like the Asus ROG Strix GS-BE7200X is a strong option in the gaming router market. You get actual Wi-Fi 7 performance, 10G WAN, and gaming features that work, without an extreme price or the look of a spaceship. One thing to be aware of is that this is a router only, and you will need a separate modem. Overall, if your internet is already multi-gig or if you are planning to upgrade soon, this router makes a lot of sense. But this is still a great option if you have a 1G internet plan and want a solid router with great range.
