Customer reviews
Write a reviewGreat value modem - Works as advertised and very good value for the price.
Great product - I’m very happy with the ARRIS SURFboard SB8200 modem. It delivers fast, reliable internet speeds and provides a stable connection for streaming, gaming, video calls, and everyday use. The setup was straightforward, and the modem works well with my internet service. I also appreciate the solid build quality and dependable performance. Overall, it’s an excellent choice for anyone looking to upgrade their home internet connection. Highly recommended!
Excellent upgrade to the older model - I owned the older model Arris Surfboard and used it daily for remote work. As luck would have it, the old model finally gave out after 7+ years - So I ended up buying this one and immediately noticed the increased speeds allowed by the newer chipset. All the devices in my house relying on wifi were no longer hampered by the old modem - VERY NICE
great router for the money! does a good job has excellent service! the operation is easy with no problems found
worked great! - This product worked as intended. This is very easy to set up and get going.
Brand new, didn’t last 90 days - Bought this brand new ARRIS modem with a new router to upgrade my WiFi system at home. Took less than 70 days before we started having issue of signal failures. Reset my system through COX, unplugged it several times over 7-10 days. It would come on for a few hour and then fail. Finally COX sent a tech and he tested everything, it was the modem. He said these new Arris units fail all the time. Some kind of software issue they can’t figure out. Best Buy only allows a 15 day return policy, they obviously know these are junk too. Would not recommend and obviously I’ll never buy an Arris product again. Also questioning Best Buy’s customer/product support. I guess I have to eat the $200 on this one.
Great modem - My son-in-law is a tech guy and this is the one he recommended. Works great no problems.
Best Modem for Shentel - This is probably the best modem you could get to use for most cable internet providers, but especially for Shentel. Shentel provides the cheapest, worst hardware by default, so the Surfboard is a huge upgrade from the crap they give you initially.
Easy to install - This product was easy to install and works great. With the exception of Comcast having trouble syncing to their system, I have been very pleased with this purchase.
works - internet is fast, glad best buy had a deal on it, good
Check your ISP's recommended modems before buying - Disclaimer, this might only apply based your provider and the speed your paying. My ISP is Xfinity, and I wanted to ditch my Gateway. I'm paying for 600 Mpbs Download, and I was getting those speeds with this modem. What was hamstrung though by this modem is the upload speeds. I was getting like 5 Mpbs upload with this modem, which was worse than the Gateway. This was causing latency issues especially in games, and it was impacting other devices. I went back and checked Xfinity's recommended, and they essentially have six recommended modems that take advantage of their next gen speed. I ended up buying brand I never heard of before called Hitron, and the model is the CODA56, which is the cheapest of the six recommended models by far and costs the same as this modem. Changing modems fixed everything; my wi-fi is more stable, almost zero latency issues in games, and it seems all commected devices are running better. I'm hitting upwards of 700 Mbps in download speeds, and my upload speeds shot up to 180 Mpbs which was way more than I was even getting with my Gateway. Long story short, this modem might not take full advantage of what you're paying for, and their are better options for the same price. Check you ISPs recommended modems.
Same form factor as before and status lights - Like the same size and familiar lights. It turns out that two ethernet ports are not for the same network. You would need to subscribe two ISP internet services. So, 2 gig speed is really 1 gig for most people.
Fast and simple - Great replacement for older device, install and setup was simple.
ARRIS - SURFboard SB8200 3.1 Gig-Speed Cable Modem - NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MY XFINITY / COMCAST SERVER HAD NO CONNECTION
Piece of junk - Purchase this modem and I installed it worked real good for a week and then my Internet went out so I had Cox cable come out and they said that modem was bad so this modem only lasted one week before it blew up
Arris Surfboard SB200 32x8 DOCSIS 3.1 - I bought the new modem to replace my new "All in One" modem from Cox Cable, which I returned. I didn’t want to pay a rental fee every month! I'm saving money over time and the Arris Modem works great!
Great product - It has worked really good and no issues. This product was recommended by an associate. He gave me a great advice.
Delivers as Rated - Easy to set up! Runs smoothly! Updates seamlessly! Integrated with Cox/Spectrum very easily!
Speed - My internet provider gave us the cheapest modem they could and it wasnt even capable of the speeds we are paying for. This modem hits and exceeds the speed of our plan.
