FUN game - Fun and interresting game... would recommend to friends
It's a decent game - Sid Meier’s Civilization IV remains a high-water mark for 4X turn-based strategy, delivering deep tactical depth through its flexible civics system, rich cultural borders, and iconic narration by Leonard Nimoy that brings every technology to life. Its balance between diplomacy, empire growth, and one of the most dedicated modding communities in PC history makes each campaign endlessly replayable. On the downside, the combat relies on the infamous "stack of doom" mechanic—where armies are crammed into single, massive death tiles—which simplifies late-game warfare into a war of raw numbers rather than positioning. Additionally, the steep learning curve and punishing late-game AI bonuses can feel overwhelming for newcomers, but for players seeking complex grand strategy, its rewarding mechanics far outweigh its dated edges.
Fun game - I got it on sale and it was def worth it I’m a fan of the new update
Swing and a Miss - My girlfriend usually puts a lot of time into these games. This one she has only played 2 or 3 times and not for very long and she didn't get excited about it like past titles. I myself didn't give it much of a chance yet I really like 4.
