Customer reviews
Write a reviewMsi gaming monitor - Ive only had it for 3 weeks. It has really great picture and vibrant colors that need adjusting. My only problem with it is when pc goes into sleep mode the monitor wont turn back on. Have to power down and power back on for it to work due to loss of dp. Will use the warranty before the year is up but love it other wise.
Amazing for a mini-led, leaves room to be desired. - First off, the monitor is going to need software updates to actually perform well. Local dimming should absolutely be set to 0 in SDR and 2 in HDR. Level 3 is just way too aggressive. Second, even with fine-tuning, it still won’t beat a glossy OLED screen that you can get for a similar price. But if you specifically want a Mini-LED, this really won’t disappoint. The HDR is stunning and very vibrant, and the contrast is quite good—maybe around 65% of the real-world black levels of OLED, at least to my eyes.
I wanted to love this - I debated three stars, but two seems right. At the price point and with these features, this was an easy decision to give this monitor a try. However, I ended up returning it for an OLED monitor. The main reason for two stars is that after only a few hours of use, one of the pixels or mini LEDs became stuck permanently red. The local dimming is decent, and you can get some pretty good black levels without blooming. If you’re used to OLED, it will not get you the true black experience. Where this monitor shines is brightness and HDR. This thing can get BRIGHT and the colors are impressive and vivid; better than any OLED I’ve seen. Ultimately, a broken pixel or mini-LED after basically a couple hours of viewing content is not a quality product.
For the price, hard to beat - So like others have said, the calibration will take some time. It took me about 2 weeks of messing with it to get it right. I settled for the settings: Premium Color, User, brightness: 1000 nits (other option is 400), Brightness Uniformity - off, Sharpness 0-2 - usually set to 1 (depending), Halo Dimming 94-98 (depending), Local Dimming to level 3, and Image enhancement to Weak. These settings wont be the brightest possible, but will have good detail and no blooming. Also, go into the windows settings to display settings and update the refresh rate to 300 on the monitor (so that it actually works). From here, it looks really good. I've noticed the refresh rate is noticeably better than my last monitor which was a similar 1440p MSI monitor with 180hz refresh rate. I didn't think I would be able to notice, but I can. Overall, on dark games like Dragon's Dogma 2 or Dead By Daylight I can see a lot more detail due to the local dimming technology. It's much better in Dead By Daylight in particular. There was initially some blooming that was noticeable in bright scenes (in Warcraft 3) due to the increased brightness over my last monitor (from 400 nits to 1000 nits), but this is mitigated once the calibration is done. No longer noticeable. If you play dark scene games like Resident Evil, Dragon's Dogma, etc... this is a great monitor. Some people are comparing this to OLED, and I would say it is like an off-brand / or diet-OLED in a way. I would take this over the risk of Burn-in due to playing mostly RTS games like Warcraft 3 or SC2. I gave this a 5/5 due to the price. For this money, there wont be a monitor that is better. The only other monitor I considered was the TCL version which is a lower refresh rate but is more expensive. I stuck with MSI and I've yet to be disappointed with them. One of my favorite companies.
First mini-led monitor - The MSI MAG 274QPF X30MV 27-inch MiniLED QHD Monitor has been a solid pickup so far. Right out of the box, the picture quality looks good; sharp, bright, and definitely a step up from a standard display. You can tell there’s a lot of potential here, especially with the MiniLED backlighting and all the built-in features. That said, it does feel like a monitor you have to grow into a bit. There are a ton of settings and tweaks, and I’m pretty sure I haven’t unlocked what it can really do yet. Out of the box it’s good, but based on reviews, it seems like it can be amazing once everything is dialed in properly. It is a little pricey for what it seems like at first glance, which gave me some pause. But I suspect a lot of that value comes from fine-tuning the experience, and I just haven’t fully gotten there yet. Overall though, I’m happy with it and optimistic that once I spend more time with the settings, it’ll really shine.
Good monitor - Pretty good monitor I loved it colors are insanely good closest to oled
Calibration isnt great - Color is impossible to get correct, never had this problem
Love it - Great really cool. Monitor works very well. Deep blacks.
