Good Product - First of all, I want to address the heating issue. I have owned a handful of gaming laptops, but this is the only one that shut off on me due to overheating. I would like to mention that I was playing on a desk, not a couch or carpet, and I only was playing Fortnite. At this point, I had not touched any settings, so everything was on default. This is why I am only giving it three stars. It would be lower, but I really liked everything else about the laptop. Also, the battery is not that good. While playing Fortnite on default settings, the battery, at 100%, would only last about 45 minutes before hitting 20%. Doing light web surfing, it would last about 2-3 hours. However, I bought it dirt cheap. So, if you are on a budget and will always be near an outlet with a cooling laptop station, I would recommend.

Write a reviewOutstanding Power,Crisp Screen, and Great Thermals - The Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16" has exceeded my expectations for both demanding workloads and gaming. The display is vibrant, sharp, and the extra vertical space makes multitasking and productivity significantly easier. Thermal management is top-tier—the cooling system keeps temperatures well under control during heavy loads without excessive fan noise. The TrueStrike keyboard offers excellent tactile feedback for long typing sessions, and placing most ports on the rear keeps desk cable clutter to a minimum. Solid build quality, smooth performance, and zero thermal throttling. Highly recommended!
Great Laptop - This thing is a beast! Amazing color and fast. I have it connected to a gaming monitor and have had no issues. But also I don't game for 12 hours/day. Maybe 3-5 hours/day at the most. I was able to grab it while on sale which was an additional plus.
Great laptop but eome issues. - For the first 6 months it has been the perfect laptop. Runs fast and is great for gaming or editing that i use it for. Out if no where it stopped working, was sent off for almost a month and they said it got fixed. I used it for a couple weekes and it was running slower and having issues. It stopped working AGAIN. So it got sent off again. I have it back with a replaced motherboard. It does not run like it did before and still giving me issues. Trying to contact the manufacturer is difficult to get a full replacement. Unsure of what happened, but greatful for the warranty.
Do it all for less than a fortune - Strong enough to become my end game device for a while. Can run any game at medium to high settings hitting well over 60fps with tweaks. Haven’t run into a game I can’t play yet currently playing Resdient Evil R. and DOOM the dark ages and they run and look incredible. Don’t even get me started on turning this into my retro arcade heaven. A definite bang for buck beast. No regrets 100% recommend.
Legion pro 15 - Bought it for My flight simulator and it’s serving just the purpose I wanted
Well built and strong performer - I bought this to replace a four year old Legion that has run its course and is ready to be demoted. This model does not have any form of biomatics for logins. The only way to log in is by using your user name and password. I do not use a Microsoft account and that leaves my device constantly asking for MS account information when performing certain tasks. What I like about it, I was able to take the 64 gigabytes out of my old machine and move them into the new one. I was also able to move one of my Samsung 990 M.2 NVME drives from the old machine to this new one. But this new laptop only has one M.2 slot. The NVidia RTX 5060 has given me good speed for gaming in and acts as a strong local weight AI tool. It runs Gemma/Qwen 3.8 well. I have been able to run CSGo2, CyberPunk, and my goofy Atari games at 240 frames per second smoothly. What I don't like is that it only has one hard drive slot, it does not allow me to use my thumb to log in like it's predecessor, But those are minor. I am a college professor and i use this to teach cloud computing, networking, cyber, and data science courses. It naturally responses well in class and via teleconferencing. I am not a fan of the built in camera but it works for what I need it to do. If you are looking for a machine that is portable, durable, has a metal chassis, has a dedicated video card for gaming and AI work, and if you want a system that can last you four or more years, I would recommend not just this system but this line of laptops from Lenovo. The versions with the AMD chips seem to game better in my view, than the Intel versions and if you buy one the versions with the "i" after the model number like "7i" then it means that your RAM is soldered and you cannot upgrade it.
Love this laptop - Best laptop I’ve ever owned the ai copilot is pretty cool as well highly recommend.
GREAT BUT LACKS RAM - So I got this laptop. It overclocks and cools really well. The lack of 32gb for the price really sucks. The storage upgrade isn't bad. You can add more storage as it has 2 available M.2 drive with 1 being the main drive that it comes with. The computer can take over 128gb of RAM and over 4tb of storage as it is a gen 4 m.2 slot drive. But yes best cooling and super light pc. Honestly really impressed by how far the LEGION software has come. If you can get this PC for around $1200 open box go for it. If not I would look at something else as I was able to get this PC open box excellent condition for $1285.xx and some change. Hope this helps! Great for Editing and gaming overall the 5060 in this laptop is impressive for the resolution as I am able to play most games at max to high settings even with the stock config. I am able to oc the GPU clocks and set my custom curves for cooling on the CPU and GPU fans. Great overall and screen response is awesome.
Workhorse - This product is an absolute workhorse. The price point is fair for the performance, and the build quality is surperb. The hard drive definitely has some writing limitations, but nothing an upgrade wouldn't fix
Great purchase - I got a laptop because I move around a lot for college, and it did not disappoint. Very quick, beautiful display, and it runs my games great. I’m upgrading the ram soon, but It’s been a month and I have no complaints. I use it plugged it so battery isn’t an issue.
Good Laptop: Cant Compare to a PC Tower - This laptop is large, which is common for laptops with a dedicated GPU. The legion performed reasonably well under load (used as a daily laptop for about 45 days). Great graphics on the laptop screen, responsive and well-built keyboard and overall, a quick computer. Be mindful that if you want to plug it into a secondary monitor it will cap its output to the extra monitor at 60Hz. Although a good laptop it has about 2-hours of battery life and was quite bulky to be functional as a throw in the backpack type of laptop. If you run heavy software or games on the PC, when it hits about 25% charge the performance would throttle and crash during highly intensive tasks so, being plugged in is important! This inherently makes sense, but the short battery life and heavy design is what led me to go another way. It also runs hot, so propping it on a laptop stand is likely important for longevity as I read that overheating can be an issue after a gaming laptop runs hot for a few years. So, I eventually returned my Legion 5 and decided to go with a slim laptop and upgrade my PC Tower. I also made this decision because I paid full retail for Legion Pro 5 which is a steep cost (1,827$ After Tax (AT)) for something that is not easy to fix or upgrade in the future. I exchanged Legion Pro 5 for a HP Omni book 3 MSRP 1300$ for a sale price of 740$ AT on a Labor Day sale). Upgrading my PC and going with a smaller laptop increased my total budget to 2340$ AT but gives me lots of flexibility in the future. Slimmer laptops with integrated graphics surely are not the same as a gaming laptop but they have impressive battery life and many of the same features but without a heavy display (will be gaming limited). I was in a unique position but feel that buying a Mid-Tier laptop and a great home PC is a much better place to be than having close to 2,000 tied up into a laptop that needs to be chained to the wall. I can use the remote desktop features on my laptop and PC to get some horsepower on the go if I need it for 3D CAD tasks. Here is an example of the PC Tower components that I upgraded with 1,600$ AT (saved about 200$ on sales/promo): Motherboard (X870 Tomahawk), CPU (AMD 9800X3D), CPU cooler (Be Quiet Rock 3), 32gb of DDR5 Ram (Viper w/ no RGB), 2 TB of PCIE storage (WD), MSI Mag 850 watt power supply, and a new case (Lan Cool 216). I reused my RTX3060 and 2.5 tb of SATA SSD from my old PC which saved me a lot in the short term. My GPU will need an upgrade someday soon. My old build was crap except for what I reused. But, by spending an extra 513 dollars I was able to get a decent laptop and a smoking fast PC.
Great spec laptop for gaming and off screen work - Can't complain about it at all. I always keep it docked and charging, that's the only downside is the battery dies quick, but for my use its great.
Nice. - Yeah, it's pretty good, works well for me. I like it.
10/10 - Very good item, i can't pick a better option. Recommended
Lenovo 5 is one nice laptop - Very good performance from this laptop. Screen is nice and bright making it easy to read. Works very well as a developer's PC but also has no issues at all playing games. The Ryzen 9 does an awesome job (second time stepping away from Intel) and handles stress well. Adding a second SSD was super easy - nice layout of the motherboard makes it a 5 min. task
Great - I picked this up for $1300 before the price jumped ip to what it is now. At the price I bought it it is totally worth it. I immediately upgraded it to 32GB as it was cheaper to buy this and install my self vs get one that has it already. I debloated keeping only the main core Lenovo app. Laptop works great, fast, does what I want it to do. Definitely utilize the frame gen as it’s only a 5060.
great machine - this thing runs like a dream, great machine and highly recommended
Best buy ever - the computer is stable, and good for gaming. love it!
Lenovo - Perfect build it has good speed aswell storage is okay
