Customer reviews
Write a reviewGreat purchase - Genuinely no complaints. Size is perfect for my smaller hands and I can take it everywhere with me, fits in every bag. Screen quality is amazing, very crisp. Recently switched from physical books to e-reader and the Kobo has been the best alternative I’ve found.
Mighty - I recommend. Battery lasts very long. I’ve only charged it twice and I have close to 160 hours of use
simple - Simplify e reader, the biggest point is it is out of the amazon system, which is nice no adds I use kobo plus that has a different library
Maybe the kobo I received is defective, maybe not? - I read downloaded library ebooks daily. I've used Kobo almost a month, regret buying it. Kobo is slow, has bothersome lagtime, and is very difficult to interface with local library to download books and then downloading is difficult. I'm not a fan of Amazon but I have to say their Kindle ereader is a good, easy to use product. I miss my old Kindle and will eventually replace the kobo with a new kindle. I feel like the kobo was a waste of money.
Like it - I like everything but I feel like it could have been a bit bigger in size.
Perfect size - It fits anywhere, the battery lasts me almost a month, and with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth off, I read a lot, so I’m pretty satisfied with it.
Easy reading - This is a great little reader. I can stick in my purse and take it with me. I'm enjoying being able to read a good book in stead of deleting emails when Im waiting around for kids or appointments. Light weight and easy to hold.
Absolutely love - I’ve read about 4 books since purchasing this, a little less than a month ago, and I absolutely love it. Perfect to read on the train on my way to and from work, throw it in my shoulder bag before going out with friends, or just great to read before bed.
Great E-reader! - Very happy with this product! It is incredibly user friendly and has a really long battery life so far (have only charged once). It's great!!
Top notch ereader - The Kobo Clara is way superior than a Kindle. It less intrusive and you have the freedom to consume content outside of its own storefront. The UI is also very minimalist and refreshing.
Fast delivery, great product - I am very happy to purchase this hear, the price was great, product great, delivery great. Go BEST BUY!
Very good ereader - Have not used it much yet but downoading books from Calibre was very easy and can read books
Phenomenal eReader - Great product that provides a seamless reading experience.
Simple Kindle Alternative - My girlfriend absolutely adores it, same functionality but without being tied down into the Amazon ecosystem. Taught her how to upload any PDF/ePub file could get her hands on via PC through the Calibre app, and it takes all but two minutes. Alternatively, they have their own library app which you can pay for as well.
No eye strain - I love it! I can bring it anywhere, at work, at the park etc. It doesn’t strain my eyes specially reading before bed. Battery is great also.
Really enjoying my Kobo Clara ereader - I decided to try a Kobo ereader after having a Kind* for many years. I'm glad I made the switch! I usually read at night before bed so I appreciate that Kobo dims the screen to limit the blue light that can impact sleep. I also love that I can use the Libby/Overdrive option on the Kobo to borrow books from the library. Very happy with my purchase. I was very pleased that Best Buy had it available and shipped it to me quickly.
Kobo Clara BW - A few weeks and about 35 hours in and the Clara is amazing. 6” readers are the perfect sizer for a bigger guy like me being legible but still pocketable. Clara has all the features I wanted, adjustable brightness and temperature for the backlight, internal search, dictionary and highlight features, and software updates coming for a web browser while not being locked into the Amazon and kindle ecosystem. Clarity is great refresh is good on the paper screen, load times are great and it has enough features without feeling like a second phone. Highly recommend
Perfect E-reader - Perfect size, functionality, and I don't have to give Jeff Bezos more money.
Great Little eReader - I purchased the Kobo Clara BW eReader because one of my local libraries use CloudLibrary wish does not work with Kindle devices. I went back and forth on which Kobo device to get and I settled on the BW device instead of the Clara Colour or Libra Colour. The screen is nice and I love the portability of a 6 inch device to fit in small purses. It is a little heavier and the screen is a little more recessed than my 6" Kindle Basic but it offers more features than the Basic so that is understandable. The screen and light quality are more on par with the Kindle Paperwhite. I do wish Kobo software allowed Google sync like the higher tier models, I also wish it supported multiple Libby/Overdrive library cards because I do have library cards for libraries for use Libby as well. For CloudLibrary, you have to download the book to your computer then USB transfer to the Kobo. I had no problem with this process on a Mac and the process took less than 5 minutes. My Mac recognized the device and my Calibre book management software did as well. Kobo store purchases show up in My Books for download. The download tri dots are sensitive. I thought I could see book details by clicking on the dots next to a title like with my kindle but for me, it downloads the book instead of giving me an option. I easily loaded additional fonts to the device via USB transfer from my computer. I purchased the Kobo remote page turner and it paired and works seamlessly. I recommend this device if you are in the market for an ereader.
