Awesome 2 player game! - If you are looking for a couch co-op game you will love this!
My game - This was a fun game. Really helps you work together with other people.
Pure Gameplay Magic That Never Gets Boring - It Takes Two is an absolute triumph of co-op design that literally never stops throwing new ideas at you. You play as Cody and May, a couple on the brink of divorce who get magically turned into dolls and forced to work together by a wildly annoying talking relationship book. What follows is a 12-to-15-hour adventure where the mechanics change in almost every single level. One minute you're playing a top-down dungeon crawler, the next you're flying a makeshift plane or engaging in a full-blown fighting game sequence on top of a flying squirrel. The sheer variety of puzzles and platforming is staggering, and because the game requires constant communication, it forces you and your partner to actually cooperate rather than just playing next to each other. While the gameplay is a masterclass in variety, the narrative definitely has some rough edges. The lighthearted rom-com tone feels totally at odds with a few surprisingly dark moments—the infamous stuffed elephant scene is genuinely traumatizing—and the magical book character is incredibly grating. Still, the game looks vibrant, runs flawlessly, and includes a generous Friend's Pass so your partner can play online for free. Even if the story occasionally misses the mark, the relentless creativity and pure fun of the gameplay make it an essential, unforgettable experience. If you need a title for this review, you could go with something like "A Co-op Masterpiece with a Clunky Story" or "Pure Gameplay Magic That Never Gets Boring."
Fun game for 2 - This was a great game for 2 players. Gave me and my husband something to do together. We enjoyed it !
Fun Game For Two - This is a great game for a couple to play together, it is one of the better games for the PS4.
I like how similar this game is to "Split Fiction" - My partner and I finished the game "Split Fiction" and I wanted to find a game that was similar to 2 player problem solving game. We found it!! The story line to It takes two is a familiar one for me at least where at times my parent's didn't see eye-to-eye. I don't wish to unpack any further or I would give away what the story line is. I'm a retired gamer myself. I used to play Mortal Kombat II, Street Fighter II, and Killer Instinct, so that was some years ago. Anyway, as I mention after finishing split fiction I wanted a game that was similar where two players had to problem solve together. This was that game!! I like how the game shows you new moves but without practice you won't learn the move so shortly after the idea of the new move is introduced it's applied in game play and required to pass that part of the story. The graphs are solid and do appear very realistic. The characters that we interact with are cute and fun to watch. The puzzles that are presented to players are both challenging to novice gamers like myself and also to my surprise were very challenging to my partner who currently is an avid gamer unfortunately to chores that need an extra repeating to get done, but that's enough of our daily nagging/tasks. I would recommend this game, "It takes two" to folks who want to start gaming and yet also want to spend time together with significant other who every that may be, it's a fun time to plan and problem solve. However, my novice status as a gamer resulted in me dying multiple times more so than my partner and at times my partner would sigh loudly waiting for me to catch up, haha. So that's another part in itself, if a person is to impatient than probably this isn't the game for you, however if you are patient and willing to wait for novice gamers, the results can be great!!! The camera angles here are truly extraordinary!! The perspectives for each player is mostly similar, but there are more than a few cases where the view points of each player is vastly different and adding on the layer of problem solving is when you can appreciate the true challenge of the game play. I would say, we start getting tired of playing about 40-45mins due to the constant critical thinking skills and working unanimously to be able to get to the next level. The game at times did take a little long to load the next level, my only guess is at the time our bandwidth associated with our internet was small due to our neighbors all sharing internet at the same time. If you made it this far.. I would highly recommend this game if you have a partner who is a gamer and you want to be a part of their world in gaming and aren't sure what game to dive into.
Family entertainment - Wife and me love so much, enjoy in our night time play
Great co-op game - It Takes Two is an exceptional cooperative platform-adventure that keeps gameplay fresh by constantly swapping in creative new mechanics—from gravity-flipping shoes to time-bending clocks—so no puzzle or platforming sequence ever overstays its welcome. Built strictly for two players (available via split-screen or online with a free Friend's Pass), every level genuinely demands active teamwork and sharp coordination, set against a charmingly detailed, miniature-sized world packed with fun competitive minigames. While the story's divorced-couple narrative and eccentric guide, Dr. Hakim, can feel a bit jarring at times, the smooth performance on PS4 and the sheer breadth of inventive gameplay make it an absolute must-play for anyone looking for a top-tier co-op experience.
