HP OMEN – MAX 16″ OLED 240Hz Gaming Laptop – Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX (2025) – 32GB Memory – NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 – 2TB SSD – Shadow Black

Oled screen and power - Nery nice laptop ver powerful and screen is oled and looks amazing

Worst laptop ever, unstable, poor battery life. - Bought in May '26. Unstable operating system, sometimes commands are ignored, or a window will open and spontaneously close, The cursor moves off screen on its own only to be found over in a corner. Brand new the battery will not last one full hour. Perhaps the most annoying feature is every time it boots up the keyboard flashes with this childish 'rainbow ripple' effect. (Do a lot of 8 year old girls buy $3000 laptops?) The salesman assured me I could change that after buying it and getting it out of display mode. He was wrong. The effect is hardwired to the keyboard. Now it has stopped connecting to internet and I can't get support until Mon.

Exceptional Next-Gen Performance - I picked up this HP Omen Max 16 configuration open-box, and it has absolutely exceeded my expectations. The combination of the Intel Core Ultra processor and the NVIDIA RTX 5080 delivers incredibly fluid performance. I primarily run local offline LLM models and heavy development tools, and this machine handles them completely lag-free. The thermal management keeps the laptop running surprisingly cool even during sustained workloads. The 16" OLED 240Hz screen is phenomenal, offering vivid color accuracy and deep blacks that make content creation and media consumption an absolute joy. The build quality feels premium and robust, giving me full confidence that this setup will easily remain a top-tier performer for the next 5 years. Highly recommended for anyone looking for uncompromised power!

Best laptop in the world - I use this heavily daily.. it handles everything i use and need. Performance is solid, but its fragile.. so take extra care of it unlike i did. As long as you take care of it, it will last you longer than anything on the market and maintain its performance

Great Laptop (Overall) - This laptop has many great things about it, performance is great, it handles much, graphic output is amazing, easy to clean, not really any negative experiences I’ve had so far. Now for a few cons, it’s a bit heavy, it’s a bit loud (if you play with a headset you’ll be fine). Lastly, the power doesn’t last long if it’s unplugged (on my current settings). I don’t mind as when I use it it’s always plugged in or it will get lag when gaming. Wait for a sale and grab it if it’s a great deal for you, it’s pricey but if you move a lot or are limited in space it’s a great gaming laptop.

Great gaming laptop - Laptop was purchased for college coursework that was CAD heavy and rendering heavy. The computer has been super fast with the heavier loads. No heat issues. Great graphics! A little heavier to carry around in a backpack, but you adjust quickly. Really happy with my choice.

Great rig for gaming and work - The laptop is great for gaming and runs any games I play (AAA and open word RPGs) excellent with 0 stutter. I wouldn’t buy it for the full price, defintley a sale but, but still would recommend.

Performance Delivered - I was in need of a laptop urgently for a project I was working on. Seeing reviews were looking good I gave the HP OMEN a chance. It Did not Disappoint. Works great For CAD 3D scanning and Gaming too.

Powerful Gaming Laptop with an Amazing OLED Displa - Very powerful laptop with excellent performance. The OLED 240Hz display looks amazing, and the RTX 5080 handles games extremely well. Everything runs fast and smooth, and the 2TB SSD provides plenty of storage. Overall, I’m very happy with the laptop and would definitely recommend it.

An Absolute Powerhouse with Amazing OLED Display - I've had a great experience with the OMEN MAX 16. The combination of the Core Ultra 9 275HX, RTX 5080, and 32GB of memory makes this thing an absolute powerhouse. Everything I've run on it has been fast and smooth, from gaming to heavy multitasking and demanding applications. The 240Hz OLED display is easily one of my favorite features. Colors are vibrant, blacks are incredibly deep, and everything looks extremely sharp and fluid. Once you've experienced gaming on a high-refresh-rate OLED like this, it's hard to go back. I also really like the RGB gaming keyboard. It looks fantastic, feels great to use, and complements the overall design of the laptop nicely. Another big highlight is the cooling system. Powerful gaming laptops can get extremely loud under load, but I've been impressed with how well the OMEN MAX manages its thermals. Even with the RTX 5080, it runs noticeably quieter than some other high-performance gaming laptops I've owned. The 2TB SSD is also a huge plus, especially with how large modern games and applications have become. It's nice having plenty of storage right out of the box without immediately thinking about an upgrade. It is a fairly heavy laptop, but that's a tradeoff I'm willing to make for this level of performance and cooling. Overall, the OMEN MAX 16 feels like a true desktop replacement. If you want serious RTX 5080 performance, a gorgeous 240Hz OLED display, great cooling, and plenty of storage, this is an excellent gaming laptop.

Good laptop - Meets the specs as advertised. Fast refresh rate, would recommend.

Speed, power and style - This computer has been great. The screen looks amazing. It's quick and handles both my video editing and gaming with ease. I highly recommend this computer.

Very nice computer - I like how fast it is and all th options I like the backlit keyboard with nice keys

Amazing laptop - This laptop was able to play every single game I wanted at such a high fps honestly such a worth purchase

Good laptop, i like it. And i enjoy. With this

Constant Issues - Purchased this system a few months back. This thing constantly freezes, has some serious graphics issues, and has to be force rebooted every other day using the power button. It doesn’t matter which game is played, it doesn’t matter if the drivers are up to date, nothing fixes these issues. Do not buy for gaming. External build quality is good, but that’s about the only good thing about it.

Broke down in less than a year - Had a great time with it for 10 months then their experimental half liquid metal paste leaked out and fried the mother board. One year later all of us who bought this laptop now know this is a common issue. Warranty says that repairs will take three months. Do not buy this laptop it jas a high failure rate and you will benoit your laptop for many months.

Love everything... but the keys - I picked this up somehow for 2100 on an open item deal I saw so of course my wallet looked at me with disgust as I tapped my card on the kiosk. The laptop I think is great, super fast with everything I've done so far. I actually like the Omen hub and think its easy to use. Rgb lightinf studio is pretty nice too but it uses a LOT of memory and you cant stop it. The screen is absolutely gorgeous and the built in cam has an integrated cover for curricular hub activities. I would give this 5 stars but this keyboard for whatever reason is extremely difficult for me to initially set my fingers on it. So this plus moderate difficulty navigating while typing hurts my experience with it. Its surprisingly quite for using top tier hardware paired with high power input. Also this has a unique "fan cleaning" mode which spins them backwards. Overall it's a killer performance laptop but that keyboard hates me.

Awesome highly recommend..works flawlessly no bugs or issues yet.

Perfect for VR / Game Developers - I purchased this computer to be my portable VR development workstation. It worked great for my use case. I primarily use it with the Unity 3D engine. I had expectations and most of them were either met or better than expected. Its not perfect and its clear where corners were cut. Expected: - Heavy - Bad battery life if using heavy GPU workloads - Premium materials on the entire laptop (Did not meet expectations (read below)) - More I/O - Great sound (Did not meet expectations (read below)) Likes: - performance of the CPU/GPU - the OLED screen - individual RGB keys - Upgradable storage and RAM - BIOS setting to set max battery charge to 80% for longevity - Physical camera slide cover Dislikes: - THE SPEAKERS ARE TERRIBLE AND QUIET (It really is bad) - Needed to remove a lot of extra software (Some of this is Microsoft's fault) - Can't assign a custom action to the OMEN key on the keyboard without significant work - No gaps between keys - Trackpad is cheap and plastic. Odd for a premium product. - Inner case is plastic while the outer case is metal. For this price I wish it was all metal - Feels like its lacking I/O. Could use more ports at this price point - No touch / pen screen - Proprietary charge port with an expensive replacement brick. - nVidia Laptop RTX 5080 is more like a desktop 5070. Don't expect the same performance (Not HPs fault here)
