Good watch - Strobe light for night runs is helpful. Expensive, but a lot of good things about it.

Customer reviews
Write a reviewBattery Life is A1 + - Honestly, this watch is probably one of the best purchases I’ve made recently. I switched from the Ultra, and the difference is incredible, from battery life to health tracking. You forget that you have the watch on your wrist. It’s comfortably light, and you can safely go on a vacation or trip without needing an extra charger.
Best watch in the game - This watch has been a game-changer. Real pace tracking and body metrics have really improved my training. If you are a serious athlete or casual training for a race, or love fitness. Please get this watch.
Top notch - This watch has everything! Excellent battery and all the sports needed
The Best One! - I've owned pretty much every Apple Watch, especially the Ultra models. They're great watches, although the battery life has always been a real downside for me. My first Forerunner was the 270, and I was really impressed. The amount of data Garmin gives you is incredible. But when I decided to get more serious about running again, I upgraded to the Forerunner 970. WOW! Besides looking amazing and having a larger display, the additional metrics and insights are excellent. It gives me that extra motivation to run, and wearing it every day genuinely feels rewarding. The amount of data it provides is incredible, and it actually helps me improve my running, keep track of my health, and stay motivated day after day. Absolutely loving the 970 so far!
LOVE IT!! From Apple to Garmin, never looking back - Switching over as a lifetime apple user. I am now Garmin 100%! This watch does everything i could ever want. The fitness and health metrics are far superior to apple. The layout, display, and functionality is amazing. Best watch ive ever had. Highly recommend for the fitness enthusiast or athlete.
Forerunner 970 - The Garmin Forerunner 970 is an excellent smartwatch for runners and fitness enthusiasts. It has everything I need—from advanced running and training metrics to GPS, health tracking, navigation, and smart features. The display is beautiful, the performance is smooth, and the battery life is impressive. Overall, it’s a feature-packed watch that delivers an excellent experience for both everyday use and serious training. Highly recommended!
Garmin Forerunner 970 - I’ve been really impressed with the Garmin Forerunner 970. The AMOLED display is bright and easy to see, and the sapphire crystal gives it a much more premium and durable feel. The GPS and heart-rate tracking have been extremely accurate, and there are so many training, recovery, sleep, and health features that it feels like having a personal coach on your wrist. I also really like the built-in flashlight, maps, and the overall lightweight design. Battery life is solid, especially when using it for workouts and GPS tracking. Overall, if you’re serious about running, training, or fitness, the Forerunner 970 is one of the best GPS watches you can buy. It’s packed with features and definitely worth considering if you want a premium fitness watch.
Garmin Forerunner - Product was bought for spouse. Works amazing. A lit more detailed that her current fit bit or Oura for tracking activity.
Outstanding Product - I'm really pleased with my decision to upgrade from the Garmin Instinct to the Garmin Forerunner 970. Everything about it is a step up. Well worth additional cost.
The ghost touches are out of control - The ghost touches, this is where when you scroll and something gets clicked on that you didn't intend, is so annoying. I really wish I hadn't bought this watch. I mean, as a fitness watch, it's great. If you only use buttons and not the touch screen, it's top notch, but as soon as you start using the touch screen, this is just bad. This is my second watch thinking that this was a hardware defect. Nope. Garmin support was also white useless essentially saying that use buttons if touch screen annoys you. Yeah, if you only use buttons, I recommend. But if you spend $750 on something and touch screen is part of that something, and it just doesn't work, get another watch.
Best everday/training Watch - If you are debating from switching from the Apple watch Ultra, This is your sign to do it. This watch offers so much more in depth information about your body and allows better tracking of your health. Built in gps works great. I highly recommend this to anyone in the market for a great overall watch for either training or everyday use
Great health tracker - I love this watch since im able to track my health metrics throughout the day. Being able to see the information on the watch or phone is a great motivation tool to stay with my daily workout plans. I chose the Forerunner over the more expensive Fenix since they both track the same metrics and sensors.
Nice upgrade - Upgraded from a 745 and while that was great the 970 has a lot more metrics and a nice UI.
Great watch! - This is a huge upgrade over my old Galaxy watch 4. The battery life lasts about two weeks, which is insane compared to the Galaxy. It's not a knock on the watch, so my star review reflects it, however Best buy using roadie was incredibly disappointing. I purchased through Best buy because they're shipping was the fastest however because they used roadie, I got it later than I would have if I would have just ordered from Garmin in the first place. So buyer beware if you buy from Best buy.
Great fitness watch for experienced runners - Very good for tracking runs and workouts overall, the app has a lot of information is relevant if you are an athlete however it is extremely expensive! I would recommend if you go out and run a bunch of marathons, if you are a casual runner there is more affordable options.
Great - Performs great. Batter life excellent. Garmin Connect app is very handy.
Goat Runner - Another awesome Garmin product, this one I gifted to my brother as a graduation gift, and he loves it. Battery life lasts for days, even through workouts and daily use, highly recommended as a premium performance watch built for runners who want the best!
I would love it but don't trust it - Overall, these are the perfect watch. Very functional, with lots of stats in Garmin dashboard. However, they have a delay in measuring the heart rate. I tested it on myself. That means that if I have a bpm spike it won't be caught. As people share in Garmin communities, this is because of algorithms Garmin uses to process raw bpm data. And if this model cannot properly track the bpm, then I cannot trust neither the bpm, nor the rest of parameters based on bpm on Garmin dashboard. Therefore, no matter how I loved the design, functionality, and ux, I decided to return it.
FORERUNNER 970 - The Garmin Forerunner 970 has exceeded all my expectations. The GPS accuracy is outstanding, the training metrics are incredibly helpful, and the battery life is excellent. The display is bright and easy to read, and the recovery and performance insights have helped me improve my running
