Excellent Mid-Tier Gaming PC - First things first - this is one of the nicest cases I've ever seen. The construction is super solid and well thought out. I like that the power button is on the top, making it easier to find when the PC is under a desk. Another fun feature of the case is the slide out filter on the bottom giving you no excuse to keep it clean! I always praise ASUS for not installing a ton of bloatware on their PC images. I feel I spend more time cleaning up stuff I didn't want installed than I do actually configuring the machine. Specs are mid-range overall, but the price also reflects that. You aren't going to win any benchmark contests against your friends, but this is an excellent, budget-friendly gaming PC with plenty of options to futureproof. I would recommend running most games at 1080p to avoid choking the video card vs pushing it beyond its limits and making game play suffer. I'd recommend getting another 16GB DDR5 and this will keep most happy for years to come. There are better machines available but they come at a cost. I think this is the perfect balance of price vs performance.

Great out of the box gaming PC - This review is for the ASUS TUF TM700 Gaming Desktop - AMD Ryzen 5 8400F (2024) - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Dual 8GB - 1TB Storage. This has been a great out of the box gaming PC for me. The included RGB keyboard and mouse is a big upgrade over the standard keyboard that comes with new PC's usually. The key strokes feel good when typing and the backlighting is a very nice touch. And it's just plug and play. The Ryzen 5 5060 will handle most of your gaming needs. I had very smooth gaming experiences. I also used this computer for work and lite video editing with ease. The case is one of my favorite things about this PC. It is a masterpiece it self and is stunning to look at. The fans run very quiet and the lights look awesome. The front of the case has a glass panel with 3 fans behind it and the left side is a full glass panel as well, exposing all of the internals and one more fan on the top of the back. If I had the room on top of my desk I would happily display this case there. On the top of the case you will find 3 USB-A ports, 1 USB-C port and 2 3.5mm jacks for headset and microphone. On the back you will find everything else you need. RJ45, HDMI USB A & C ports, audio jacks, and a displayport. It comes with plenty of storage 1TB, and 16GB of DDR5 ram. I wish this was a little more. But all in all the system runs very well and doesn't overheat. I feel this is a great setup for a casual gamer and can handle all of your office needs as well.

Absolute BEAST! - ASUS is seriously, one of the best out there. I have owned many things from them and they never disappoint. This computer is no different. For starters, it's physically huge, especially compared to my old gaming computer. It has a lot of glass and mesh on it which allows me to see directly into the case and see all the cool components. I absolutely love the RGB lighting. It lights up the fans and inside the tower itself. It adds to my gaming experience when I turn the lights off and turn on my other RGBs. The fans run quietly and seem to cool everything well. This has Windows 11 on it and the setup was the normal windows setup, simple and easy. The performance is excellent. I men this monster of a PC handles everything I throw at it. I max out most games and get high frames per second without lag, just smooth, precise gaming. It performs well with all my media as well. Movies look great at 4k, music is streamed inn high resolution and photos just pop. It's crazy how a different PC and be so much better on the same display for all things media. Overall, I am extremely happy with this rig. Great job ASUS!!!

A beautiful and worthy entry level pre-built - The ASUS TUF TM700 Gaming Desktop immediately stands out with a beautiful case and a decent amount of heft when moving it into place. The design is simple but very pleasing, staying true to the ASUS TUF branding without looking overly complicated or flashy. The dark finish, angular details, and illuminated fans give it the gaming PC look I want, while the side window shows off the components and matching TUF styling inside. It looks like a complete, thoughtfully put together system rather than a basic tower with a few lights added. Going into this, I think it is important to understand what you are buying. This is an entry-level gaming desktop that gets you in the door to PC gaming, not a top-of-the-line machine intended to run everything at maximum settings. To me, it feels like ASUS put together a straightforward, ready-to-use prebuilt for the average consumer who wants to start gaming without picking out and assembling every individual component. I appreciate that approach, especially when shopping for PC hardware lately has felt increasingly expensive with all the attention around AI and high-end components. Inside, you get an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Dual with 8GB of video memory, 16GB of DDR5 system memory, and 1TB of storage. That is a worthwhile starting combination for the kind of 1080p gaming I would buy this desktop for. I would still approach demanding AAA games with realistic expectations about settings rather than expecting every title to run fully maxed out. For someone getting started, though, this configuration makes much more sense to me than paying for a high-end system before knowing what they actually need. The AMD Ryzen 5 8400F is an older processor, but it is definitely not anything to sneeze at. It is a six-core CPU that fits the entry-level focus of this build, and I do not see its age alone as a reason to dismiss the whole system. Would I prefer a stronger Ryzen processor? Of course, especially coming from more powerful gaming setups. But this desktop is about having a practical starting point, and the included hardware gives you that without pretending to be a flagship gaming rig. I also appreciate the practical connectivity. Having USB-A and USB-C connections along with separate headphone and microphone jacks conveniently accessible on top makes plugging in everyday accessories easy. For a first-time PC gamer, those little conveniences matter because you want to connect your peripherals and get going without constantly reaching behind the case. The overall layout feels approachable rather than intimidating. The tinted tempered glass of the case is premium looking, inside the arrangement is clean, and the lighting ties the whole build together nicely. The three front fans, rear fan, and branded interior panels give it plenty of personality without taking away from that straightforward TUF appearance. This is a desktop that feels like a starting point rather than something you have to replace entirely when the needs change. Overall, I think the ASUS TUF TM700 would make a great gift for someone diving into PC gaming for the first time. I also see the appeal for someone who wants a capable everyday desktop for productivity and getting started with content creation, rather than a specialized high-end workstation. It is a beautiful PC with a sensible entry-level configuration and room to develop the setup over time. If you go into it understanding what this hardware is intended to do, there is a lot to appreciate here. It gets you started, looks great doing it, and gives you something to build on.

TUF Stuff, Weak RAM - The Asus TUF TM700 has been an interesting experience. For the past two weeks, I have used it for everyday use, including casual browsing, digital art, multitasking, and gaming. While it has overall been a mostly smooth experience, there are some important caveats to note about this build. My first impression of the ASUS is that it is BIG! It is also fairly heavy. The case feels sturdy and has a tempered glass side panel with thumbscrews for easy access. Although the thumbscrews work just fine, I feel they are a bit fiddlier than the case on my previous (also pre-built, but from a different manufacturer) prebuilt. The chassis is advertised as “military grade,” which I have some qualms with due to the fairly nebulous nature of what this sort of testing entails in terms of testing and what it promises, but this hopefully speaks to its ability to tolerate the sorts of normal bumps and shocks a desktop tower might encounter. The size and heft do make it feel sturdy regardless of whether or not the “military grade” testing means anything, which is always welcome. It is relatively easy to remove the fan grills to clean as well. The TUF comes with RGB lighting, as is tradition, which is by default set to yellow. It wasn’t really to my taste, but it can be changed through ASUS Armoury Crate. Armoury Crate itself was a bit fiddly as well in my experience. One of the features includes “AI Aura Lighting,” an AI feature that generates lighting effects from text prompts. I found that to be completely unusable, unfortunately. One of the default suggested prompts, “soft ocean color gradient,” returned strobe lighting flashing white and teal, which, while technically the correct colors, is not at all what I would expect from “soft” or “gradient.” Trying other prompts didn’t yield better results, but luckily you can set your own lighting effects and customize it further if you would like to. Performance has been solid for the kinds of games I play. My library leans more towards indie and casual titles with a few newer games mixed in, so my experience is probably most relevant to someone with a similar catalogue versus someone looking to run every new AAA release at maximum settings. In Slime Rancher 2 on my 4K monitor, I generally stayed around 60 FPS on medium settings, although I did encounter occasional frame dips and stutters. Lowering the resolution did help somewhat, but looked softer on my display; based on my experience, I would think that this build is more suited to 1080p or possibly 1440p gaming than more demanding modern games at native 4K. In Cinebench 2026, I got a GPU score of 45,768 and a multi-thread CPU score of 2,702, which lined up with the performance I saw in normal use. On the upside, cooling has been excellent so far. I noticed no thermal throttling during stress testing; temperatures remained very reasonable even while gaming, and the fans are generally quiet. Of course, when pushed during gaming, they can become more noticeable, but the noise hasn’t been excessive thus far. The port selection is also more than adequate, with plenty of USB connections (including two USB-C ports, one front and one rear). One unusual aspect of the port selection is ASUS’s external Wi-Fi/Bluetooth “shark fin” antenna, which I found the design of to be quite clever! It can sit in a little stand independent of the case or attach magnetically. I do wish ASUS explained this better in the included documentation, because the design was initially confusing. Since my tower lives under my desk, the magnetic mounting option makes more sense, but I would personally have preferred a more traditional mounting method. My biggest complaint about the ASUS is easily the memory configuration. This system ships with a single 16GB DDR5 stick, which leaves the system with less memory bandwidth than a two-stick configuration and can limit performance in some workloads. While this likely won’t be an issue for lighter usage, such as very casual web browsing or light gaming, it was surprisingly easy to overwhelm that 16GB with my normal usage, which includes a browser, Discord, some creative programs, and other background applications (like Dropbox, Teams, etc.). I regularly see memory usage reach 80-90% or higher, which stands out compared to the rest of the hardware that comfortably accommodates my usage by comparison. Unfortunately, the memory configuration makes the TUF TM700 harder for me to recommend as-is. The RTX 5060 performs well, the cooling is good, and the chassis feels solid, but the single 16GB stick feels like an unnecessary limitation in an otherwise capable system. For my workload, 32GB (or at least a dual-stick configuration) would have made this a much more well-rounded desktop. Overall, I’ve enjoyed using the TUF TM700. It runs cool and quiet, has a capable GPU for my needs, plenty of connectivity, and a sturdy case. I’m not sure that the ‘military grade’ label is a particular selling point here, and the single 16GB RAM stick feels a bit mismatched with the rest of the system, making it harder to recommend when factoring in a future memory upgrade for usability.

It offers high-definition 7.1 audio and is assembled in an awesome case that provides plenty of room for expansion. It's shipped with a cool yellow glow that's visible through the front and clear side panel and fans that do a great job of keeping things cool, and noise levels low. I am pleased with the built-in specs and although they could be higher, so could the price. This is a great gaming computer with plenty of power for most people, but could be expanded should the future need arise. While the main feature is the CPU, the TM700 arrives with an RGB gaming keyboard and gaming mouse. The mouse is contoured and fits nicely in the palm, the scroll wheel is smooth, and the buttons "click" nicely. The keyboard has comfortable raised keys that click quietly and provide enough movement to know they are working properly. Unfortunately, there's not a volume knob/control which I really like but you can always switch out the keyboard. The TM700 also includes access to Armory Crate which allows you to customize Asus hardware from a single screen, and monitor your system. You can also personalize RGB lighting for your keyboard, mouse, and CPU and display hardware data in real time. I've used Asus laptops for years and am absolutely thrilled to be able to enter their desktop world!

Powerful and Easy to Upgrade - This gaming desktop from ASUS packs a lot of power. With the prices of PC components increasing over these past few years, it's tough to find a powerful pre-built machine at a good price. I've owned several gaming PCs over the past few decades, and I feel like the TM700 may give you the best bang for your buck. Pros: - As mentioned above, this machine has excellent specs for the price point. Not only do you get 16GB of RAM (in a single stick), but the RTX 5060 GPU will allow you to run any game you like at high-end settings. I installed a few of my favorite games from my Steam account and enjoyed fantastic frame rates and really smooth gameplay. - There are 3 extra memory slots for expansion. You'll have no issues with upgrading memory capacity in the future. - A full 1 TB solid state drive gives you a decent amount of storage capacity and helps keep boot and load times to a minimum. - The guts of the machine look very clean and organized (see pictures) with tons of space for your hands if you ever need to reach inside to modify or upgrade your machine. I also loved how easy it was to remove and reinstall the glass panel when accessing the internals. Other PCs I have owned in the past can sometimes be tricky. - The "Armoury Crate" is ASUS's app for gamers to monitor their PC's performance and to tweak their experience. It provides a terrific snapshot of component performance/temperature/etc, allows you to create specific profiles for specific games, adjust LED lighting (Aura Sync), and do many other things. It really adds value to the PC. Cons: - The size/dimensions of the case can be a concern if you have limited space below your computer desk or on top of your desk. It's one of the larger cases you'll find on the market. This is a terrific gaming PC for both people who are just getting into PC gaming or for a seasoned veteran.

But is this ASUS TUF Enough? - Yes. Yes it is. This ASUS TUF TM700 gaming desktop is built solid - metal tower frame and top panel grating, with tempered-glass sides. An interesting tower design detail, is that there’s an approximate inch of open space between the front side metal grated panel where the set of three fans are located inside, and another glass front panel. Is this meant to give additional airflow, or is it merely a unique design choice? Either way, I’m very much a fan; pun intended. Out of the box, this computer was easy to get set up. Remember to do all available updates. There wasn’t any of the usual bloatware, not even a trial virus protection offer to remove. There’s plenty of ports on the back side of the tower, with key ones accessible on the top panel near the power button. Now while the AMD Ryzen 5 8400F is two-years old (2024), it nonetheless performs beautifully. I’m consistently happy with the current lineup of Ryzen processors put out by AMD. They’ve come a long way since the dark days when AMD just couldn’t seem to compete with the quality of processors Intel was known for then. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card, so far, does all that I would require of it, able to handle the games I enjoy playing. I would prefer that there was more than 16gb of RAM, but there are 3 open slots available so you have the ability to install more RAM if need be. The 1TB SSD is the bare minimum for what I consider gaming computers should have, given the size of the operating system and routine updates, as well as, the huge GB requirements of most modern video games. This PC tower is big (and heavy, weighing in at about 35lbs), with lots of open space inside so the four fans can do their job, providing really decent airflow. Even during intensive gaming sessions, the heat being put out by the tower was negligible, with the four fans cooling quite adequately, with not much difference in how loud they sounded. Four large screws on the rear panel make it easy-to-access the inside of the tower, with both sides (the glass and metal side panels) sliding smoothly out, making it more simple to do any needed upgrades, etc. There are RGB lights on components inside the tower. The muted yellow/beige default color it came set at is rather pleasant, so I’m keeping that color for now, though the option to change the RGB color is available to you, via ASUS Aura Sync in the Armory Crate software. This ASUS TUF TM700 gaming desktop also came with a basic wired keyboard and mouse. Both of which have colorful RGB lights, which I personally always like to see. The idea of an external WiFi-6 antennae accessory you have to attach to the back plugins seems rather lame, however. My usual games - World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2, Baldur’s Gate 3, Dead by Daylight, and a variety of Steam client games - are able to be played just fine on low-to-mid range graphical settings, with no noticeable lag. WoW in particular, performed quite adequately with most base game quality graphics set to “Good.” In-game fps primarily stayed at 30 fps, averaging around 25 latency. I’m eagerly anticipating being able to play the upcoming Guild Wars 3 on this machine when it, hopefully, is released next year in 2027. What I can say is that this ASUS TUF TM700 gaming desktop is a well-made, solidly put together machine, able to handle basic gaming requirements. It more than suits my gaming needs as they are now, and is set up so that upgrades can be easily done in the future, as those needs change.

Excellent Mid Tier Gaming Rig at a Fair Price - I have been testing the ASUS TUF TM700 Gaming Desktop for a couple of weeks. I’ve been very impressed with its overall performance. The TL;DR is that it’s a very solid mid-tier gaming rig (I'd put it in the upper-mid-tier category if it had more RAM) that handled most everything I threw at it. It seems well built, is easy to set up, and comes with decent peripherals. If you're looking for a gaming desktop in its price range, I think this machine deserves serious consideration. Here's why. My last laptop setup came with a few issues that changed how I approached testing this machine. I took my time, ran benchmarks both with and without ASUS's Armoury Crate software installed, and dealt with a couple of interesting minor quirks along the way. My initial impression during unboxing was that the chassis looks and feels like a TUF product should: rugged, solid, and like it could take a couple of kicks under the desk. Nothing about it feels creaky or cheap. It comes with a keyboard and mouse that look the part, complete with nice braided cables and a solid feel. The keyboard and mouse lighting appears to be basic hardware-controlled backlighting. You can use the keyboard shortcuts to cycle through the available lighting patterns and brightness levels, but Aura Sync doesn't recognize either peripheral. I ran into a couple of quirks I hadn't seen before. Right after the first boot, the Windows clock was more than 27 hours fast. The time zone was correct, so I initially wondered whether it might be a CMOS battery issue or some other setup glitch. Hitting "Sync now" corrected it instantly, and the clock has stayed accurate ever since. The Wi-Fi behavior was even more interesting. Once I connected the antenna and started downloading Windows updates, my older Roku TV began buffering constantly. I eventually noticed a repeatable pattern: whenever I connected the PC to my Starlink network's 2.4 GHz band and started a download, the Roku, which also uses 2.4 GHz, would immediately start buffering. Once the download finished or I switched the PC back to 5 GHz, the Roku went back to normal. It's an odd issue, and I can't say exactly what's causing it, but the pattern was consistent. It literally just feels like this rig's Wi-Fi just sucks all the 2.4 GHz internet right out of the air! The Wi-Fi performance itself was quite good. Starlink speeds fluctuate considerably, but whenever I tested my wired desktop, I followed up with a test on this machine over Wi-Fi. It consistently managed about 90% of whatever the wired connection was delivering. I also spent some time investigating the performance cost of Armoury Crate. I ran the same tests with a clean Windows installation and with the factory software installed and running. Storage performance was excellent either way. ASUS equipped this machine with a proper PCIe Gen 4 drive that delivered sequential read speeds right around 7,000 MB/s. The random-read performance took a small hit with Armoury Crate active, particularly with mixed random reads, but the system still felt snappy in everyday use. In 3DMark Steel Nomad, the score actually increased slightly with Armoury Crate running, although I noticed some micro-stuttering during camera pans that wasn't present on the clean installation. Cinebench multi-core performance dropped by about 2% with the software loaded. That's consistent with some overhead from background services, although the difference is small enough that I wouldn't consider it a major concern on its own. I came away feeling that Armoury Crate worked well and was not the process-crippling bloatware some people expect. Real-world gaming is where things get more interesting. I threw a ridiculous Planet Coaster 2 park at it, with more than 5,400 guests, 20 roller coasters, 25 flat rides, and a bunch of water slides, all at maximum settings. Performance settled around 20–21 FPS. The CPU was working hard at roughly 70–90% utilization while the RTX 5060 sat at around 30%. This is a good example of a CPU bottleneck: all that guest AI and pathfinding can put a serious load on the processor without fully utilizing the GPU. Despite the low frame rate, the game remained usable for building and managing the park, and the menus loaded quickly. I also left it running for hours without a crash or any obvious performance degradation. It remained stable throughout the session. Civilization VI was a completely different story. Using the in-game benchmarks, frame times were excellent and very consistent, and AI turns averaged a little over seven seconds. After the benchmark tests I loaded up a huge endgame map and everything felt smooth as butter. No bottlenecks, just a huge end game map performing well. Dragon's Dogma 2 was the real GPU stress test. I used near-maximum settings while setting the resolution at 4K. Performance was a little rough, dropping to around 15 FPS in the open world during a busy Drake fight. Enabling DLSS 4 with Frame Generation brought the reported frame rate up to a solid 60 FPS, with the GPU working hard. That's a substantial improvement in perceived smoothness, although generated frames aren't the same as rendering 60 frames natively, and they don't eliminate the underlying rendering and input-latency limitations. The RTX 5060 needs some help in newer, demanding titles, but DLSS makes a meaningful, nay huge difference in how playable they can be. Thermals and noise are honestly two of the best things about this machine. Whether I was running synthetic benchmarks, leaving Planet Coaster 2 running for hours, or pushing through open-world combat, the fans stayed relatively quiet and the case remained cool to the touch. There's no high-pitched, laptop-style jet-engine scream here, just a very low, tolerable rumble. I kept it on my desk during testing for easy access, and I could have normal-volume conversations sitting right next to it. Armoury Crate has some quirks but over was solid. Uninstalling it through the normal Windows process can leave behind residual services. In my experience, trying to reinstall it over those leftovers caused a black screen, so if you want to remove it completely, I'd recommend using ASUS's official Armoury Crate Uninstall Tool rather than relying on the standard Windows uninstall process. There was one other minor lighting oddity. The case fans show up in Aura Sync as an "Addressable LED Strip," apparently because of how they're wired. Once I selected that entry, full color control worked as expected. I also used the proprietary software to give the case and monitor the same light effects; I’m not usually much into the lights other than a backlit keyboard, but the case (motherboard and fans) along with the monitor slowly ‘breathing’ is a fun, chill effect. Overall, I'm happy with this machine. It's a rugged, quiet, well-built gaming desktop that handles a surprisingly broad range of workloads without much drama. I also did some AI upscaling of some old DVDs I have and it performed admirably. Storage performance is excellent, cooling is impressive, and it remained stable during my extended gaming tests. The 16GB of RAM is the main thing keeping me from calling it a more convincing upper-mid-tier system, and buyers should keep in mind that demanding modern games may need help from DLSS and Frame Generation to deliver a smooth experience. Make sure you attach the Wi-Fi antenna, consider using the 5 GHz band if you encounter similar network behavior, and decide early whether you actually want Armoury Crate installed. If you're shopping around this price range, the ASUS TUF TM700 is definitely worth a serious look. If I knew someone looking for a rig like this one, I would absolutely recommend it to a friend.

Versatile Gaming Workshorse - SETUP / INSTALLATION The setup was pretty simple and genuinely plug and play. There were some updates that needed to be completed, but with my fast internet connection, that was a breeze. I did not experience any issues getting the computer up and running, and everything worked as expected. For someone who wants a gaming PC without having to build one from scratch, this makes the process much easier. Connect your devices, complete the updates, and you are pretty much ready to go. BUILD / FEEL The computer has a very nice appearance. The transparent panels and RGB lighting make it a cool-looking gaming PC besides being a workhorse computer. I genuinely enjoy the look, especially being able to see the components through the glass panels. The Solar Eclipse Gray finish gives it a clean look, and the RGB lighting adds a nice touch without making the computer look too flashy. It has a subtle design but still manages to stand out, especially when the lighting is on. EVERYDAY PERFORMANCE The boot-up process is very quick, which I think is pretty standard nowadays with SSD storage, but it still makes powering up and using the computer a streamlined process. There is not much downtime between turning the computer on and actually opening programs and using them. Everything feels responsive, and navigating through Windows and opening applications is quick and smooth. The Ryzen 5 8400F processor, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and 1TB SSD provide enough performance for my everyday needs. I use computers for more than just gaming, so having something that can handle work, school, and general productivity is important to me. So far, it has performed very well, and I have not experienced any slowdowns, crashes or issues that would make me question its performance. GAMING / GRAPHICS This is where the computer really shines. I have been playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Gears 5, and the graphics have been beautiful so far. The shading, rendering, and overall picture quality look excellent. I have been gaming at 1440p with the settings turned up to maximum, and the gameplay has been very smooth. I have not experienced any noticeable screen tearing, freezing, or interruptions during gameplay. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 with 8GB of GDDR7 memory has handled the games I have played very well. The graphics look sharp, the movement feels smooth, and the overall experience has not disappointed. I know this is not the most powerful gaming pc available, but for the games I play, it does a very good job. The gaming experience has been smooth, and that is what matters most to me. COOLING / NOISE The cooling fans produce a low to moderate amount of noise during normal use. They are noticeable, but nothing I would consider annoying or excessively loud. When playing Call of Duty or Gears 5 at the highest settings for several hours, I can definitely hear the fans kick into overdrive. However, that is pretty much what I would expect from any gaming computer being pushed for extended periods. I can feel the hot air coming out of the tower, but that is how the cooling system is supposed to work. One thing I appreciate is that the heat exits through the back and top of the case. I have used some computers that exhaust hot air toward the front, which I find annoying. This design does a nice job directing the heat away from where I am sitting. CONNECTIVITY I have the computer connected directly to my internet through an Ethernet cable because I prefer the fastest and most stable connection possible, especially when gaming online. The Bluetooth connection has also been reliable. I currently use Bluetooth speakers, and they automatically connect whenever the computer is powered on. I have not had to manually reconnect them or troubleshoot any connection issues. For my setup, the connectivity has worked exactly as expected. UPGRADES / DESIGN One thing I really appreciate is how easy the case is to open. Accessing the interior is straightforward, and the wiring is routed neatly along the other side of the case. The RAM slots are also easy to access, which makes upgrading the memory simple without having to remove a lot of other components. I like having that flexibility because even though the computer performs well now, it is nice knowing that I can upgrade the RAM or storage later without needing tools. For my needs, the design and future upgradeability are a good match. If there is one thing I would consider upgrading down the road, it would be the 16GB of RAM. It has been sufficient for my current use, but moving to 32GB would provide a little more room for future games and heavier multitasking. That is more of a future improvement than a complaint because the computer has performed well with the components it currently has. OVERAL Overall, I truly enjoy the ASUS TUF TM700. It has enough CPU and GPU power to feel like more than just a mid-level gaming computer while still providing the performance needed for work, school, and everyday use. A very nice computer that fits the bill for gaming and productivity, but definitely shows its true value when gaming.

Easy entry into PC gaming, with room to grow - The ASUS TUF TM700 delivers the kind of open-the-box-and-get-going experience I want from a prebuilt gaming desktop. My unit had a clean software setup without the unwanted bloatware I usually dread. After a straightforward round of software and driver updates, I could get my game library downloaded and installed without issue. This configuration comes with a Ryzen 5 8400F processor, an RTX 5060 with 8GB of graphics memory, 16GB of DDR5 memory and a 1TB SanDisk NVMe SSD. The component selection is conservative, especially compared with my own builds, but the supplied hardware has handled my typical games smoothly at 1080p using the settings I normally play at. That accessible starting experience is the strongest part of this desktop for me. The interior looks clean and organized, and the included GPU support bracket is a thoughtful touch. It fits neatly into the build without detracting from the appearance. Fan profiles and compatible RGB lighting can be adjusted through ASUS Armoury Crate, giving owners some control over the system’s appearance and noise. Under load, it’s audible but hasn’t struck me as overly loud. It isn’t an especially quiet machine either. There is also room to grow. The installed PRIME B650M-A AX6 II motherboard uses AMD’s AM5 socket and has published support for newer processors, including Ryzen 9000-series models. Any CPU upgrade still needs checking against the desktop’s firmware and cooling. A larger graphics card would also require checking case clearance, power-supply capacity and available power connectors. The single installed 16GB memory module leaves another straightforward upgrade opportunity: a compatible second module would add capacity and populate the other memory channel. For my initial performance testing, I ran five 3DMark benchmarks after software and driver updates, with the High Performance power plan selected and no manual overclocking or tuning. Scores were 3,145 in Steel Nomad, 3,590 in Speed Way, 12,521 in Time Spy, 28,047 in Fire Strike and 8,337 in Fire Strike Ultra. All five landed within about 2.5% of the comparison averages displayed by 3DMark, without setting the fans to full speed. These are synthetic benchmark results, rather than measured frame rates in my games, but they provide an encouraging baseline. Coming from building my own PCs, I would have liked a more generous starting configuration in a few areas, particularly the memory. Even so, the solid build, tidy interior and straightforward setup make the appeal clear. For someone looking to get into PC gaming with a complete system they can use now and improve later, this tower hits that objective well.

Beautiful, Functional, But Underpowered - [PROS] Solid Design: This TUF device is sturdy, but has an aesthetically pleasing design. I feel assured by the design that it can survive moves and accidental tipping, but I usually try my best to handle these machines with much care. I can easily access ports and components when needed. Latest Tech: Despite the lack of VRAM, the RTX 5060 does run wonderfully within reasonable expectations. The DLSS 4 features really allow me to squeeze out as much performance to even satisfy gaming at 1440p in some aspects. Upgrade Path Available: I'm not in love with the specs, but this tower can be updated to accommodate a 5070. Personally, I would go this route given that 1440 monitors have become more affordable even though other components are more expensive now. Upgrading would require beefing up the PSU and CPU, but at least this machine isn't stuck in its current format. [CONS] Leaves More to Be Desired: (Current Construction): Although the TM700 features an older CPU, it's more so held back by the 5060. Any 8 GB GPU will be held back my its VRAM budget due to newer, major releases being more demanding on average. Unless the CPU, GPU, and PSU are all upgraded then the ability of this device will be capped. [CONCLUSION] The TUF TM700 works fine 1080p gaming and less demanding titles. Frame Generation and other upscaling tech allows this machine to do more with less. It's a neat device that may require upgrades depending on needs.

Sturdy Gaming Desktop Held Back by Cut Corners - The ASUS TUF Gaming TM700 prebuilt offers an accessible, easy-to-use entrance into modern PC gaming. It packs standard, off-the-shelf parts into a sturdy case, making it easy to open up and upgrade down the road. However, for a system sitting at a steep, premium price tag, ASUS cut a few obvious corners that hold back what should be a smooth, turn-key experience. When you first set it up, the good stuff stands out. The roomy mid-tower case uses standard components and features a tool-free glass side panel, so swapping out parts in a few years is completely straightforward. On the inside, the Ryzen processor and graphics card offer fantastic synergy, pairing smoothly without holding each other back. Games run crisp and smooth on typical monitors, and the graphics card handles modern titles effortlessly for the most part. With support for DLSS 5, it uses smart AI trickery to boost lighting and reflection quality, letting you punch above your weight class for visual richness without tanking your frame rates. The case uses a dark gray finish with subtle front lighting instead of harsh rainbow lights. Four built-in fans keep the system running cool, paired with dual magnetic and slide-out dust filters on the top and bottom. You also get a generous selection of front ports, including USB-C, three standard USB ports, and dedicated headphone and microphone jacks, plus a fast 1TB solid-state drive for your files. At the same time, several frustrating shortcuts and design choices spoil the experience. While the top and bottom filters are easy to manage, there is no good way I can find to access the front intake fans for cleaning, which sit buried behind mesh and a tempered glass cover where dust will inevitably collect. ASUS also shipped this machine with a single stick of memory instead of a paired set. Operating on a single stick creates a severe bottleneck because it forces the computer to pass data through a single lane instead of running two parallel channels. That traffic jam chokes your overall memory bandwidth, creating stutters in games in some situations and slowing down overall system performance. On top of that, the built-in wireless internet suffers from weak signal strength because it lacks an external antenna, and the wireless card completely vanished from the system twice in a single week during testing. The default background image and desktop theme look terrible right out of the box, requiring an immediate cleanup. It is worth noting too that the processor does not have built-in display support, meaning the video ports on the back of the motherboard itself do not work, so you have to make sure your monitor plugs directly into the lower graphics card. Lastly, the graphics card itself is surprisingly bulky for a two-fan unit, though thankfully it still fits comfortably inside the large cabinet. Overall, the ASUS TUF Gaming TM700 is a well-built gaming PC. I like the sturdy case, quiet cooling, and straightforward layout, but at its premium retail price, I feel it it fails to deliver good value. At a premium price point, a prebuilt computer should work seamlessly on day one. Shipping an expensive system with single-channel memory that slows down the machine, hard-to-clean front fans, and a flaky wireless card that drops out forces you to spend extra time and money fixing factory shortcuts that shouldn't exist. Unless you catch this on a deep discount and are comfortable dropping in a second stick of memory yourself, the high price tag and cost cutting hardware make this a "TUF" sell.

Plenty Of Power For RTS And FPS Games - Asus now has another gaming desktop, the TUF TM700. This is a good entry level gaming desktop. It has AMD's Ryzen 5 8400F CPU, 16GB of RAM, NVidia's RTX 5060 with 8GB of VRAM, WiFi 6, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. These specs allow ASUS to keep the cost down when prices are increasing due to memory and GPU shortages while still offering a good entry level gaming desktop. The Ryzen 5 8400F CPU coupled with the RTX 5060 8GB allows me to play RTS and FPS games at a reasonable frame rate. I was getting up to 105 FPS in Battlefield 6. That’s a respectable frame rate for an up to date FPS. It helps that the RTX 5060 is the 8GB version instead of the 6GB version. I’m glad to see that ASUS went with the 8GB version. ASUS chose to go with a single stick of RAM. The TM700 has a single 16GB stick. The motherboard has 4 RAM slots. It supports 1, 2, or 4 RAM modules. I have a 16GB stick that I’ll be using in the TM700 to bring it up to 32 GB. Since the configuration is 16GB, it’s enough to still play RTS and FPS games. It comes with a WiFi 6 nic and an external antennae. The antenna I have sitting on top of my desk to get a stronger signal with the case sitting under my desk. It’s better than an antenna that mounts on the back of the board that ends up having the signal partially blocked by the case itself. The case is a high quality case. It has plenty of airflow. 3 fans are in the front and one on the back with LED lighting and a glass side panel. The case looks good. It will also accommodate a water cooler if I want to mount/install one later on. On top of the case is a magnetic dust filter. Also on top of the case are 3 USB-A ports, one USB-C port, 3.5mm mic jack, and 3.5mm headphone jack. Overall, I’m happy with the hardware and performance at this price point. I’m getting good frame rates for an entry level gaming system. I like what ASUS has done with the TUF TM700. If you are looking for an entry level gaming system, then consider the ASUS TUF TM700.

Great mid-range gaming PC! - As the title indicates, this is a great mid-range Gaming PC. It's not the highest end PC but gets the job done for most games on Medium settings. The AMD Ryzen 5 is a solid processor and the Nvidia RTX RTX5060 is a solid mid-range GPU/video card. Overall, it just looks really cool with the fan setup and it is a premium PC tower/case just like other Asus TUF products. The RAM is a little light at 16GB but you can easily upgrade that - and it's a good starting point if you don't want to build your own gaming PC. Overall, it runs games like Roblox, Minecraft, City Skylines II, and Call of Duty pretty decently but you do have to dial down the settings to Medium or similar based on the game. It also does a good job of keeping things cool inside the case with the fan setup. The gaming keyboard and mouse are also a nice edition especially being mid-range. So if you're a first time gamer who wants a gaming PC or are OK with the specs in this PC, it will be a great addition to your gaming setup and I highly recommend it!

Solid Gaming Desktop With a Beautiful Case - I have owned a few ASUS desktops over the years, and the case on this TUF TM700 is one of the best I've seen come from ASUS. Solar Eclipse Gray, glass on the front, a full glass side, the ASUS mark on the front, and four fans lit in a warm yellow, with a light strip along the bottom and a little lighting around the cooler. It does not present like a stripped down configuration. In a dark room it looks like a much higher end build. I left the lighting on yellow. Aura Sync is available if you want to change the color or match other gear, but the stock look is already the reason I keep noticing the tower. The practical side of the case is just as good. The side glass comes off without tools, which makes dusting and upgrades straightforward. There is a magnetic filter on top and a slide out filter on the bottom, so keeping the intakes clear does not turn into a project. Noise is the other point worth mentioning. Compared with the ASUS desktops I have owned, this one is quieter, and the difference is not small and definitely noticeable. The fans do increase under load, which you can hear during gaming, and is expected, but even then, it remains quieter than some of the towers I have used. When browsing or working on projects outside of gaming, I can barely tell this PC is on. Most of my gaming time is spent in Arc Raiders and PUBG as of late, and both have run cleanly. No stutter, no odd hitches, and no sense that the system is struggling to keep up. Although, I did not want the review to rest on shooters alone, so I also used a few campaign games to see how the RTX 5060 handles something more demanding. Red Dead Redemption 2 is the clearest everyday test. It is a large open world and it is hard on scenery, without leaning on ray tracing. High settings at 1080p are comfortable, and it still looks the way the game should at 1440p if a few settings are left alone. Frame delivery stays steady. For a normal story campaign, the card does not need help. Cyberpunk 2077 is the better test of what this generation of card is built to do. Standard ultra settings are playable. Ray tracing is where DLSS 4 and frame generation matter. At 1080p, quality DLSS keeps the image sharp. At 1440p, balanced is the more sensible setting. I would not run path tracing on 8GB of video memory. That is the limit of this card, not a fault in the system. Set it for a 5060 and Night City runs well. Black Myth Wukong asks more of the card in dense scenes and heavy effects. With DLSS enabled, and frame generation where it helps, it is a campaign you can play through rather than a demo you close after the opening. The same 8GB note applies. It is enough if the texture settings are chosen with some judgment. It is not enough if every option is left at maximum. That is a fair picture of the RTX 5060 Dual in this system. For the shooters I play, it has been excellent. For story driven games, it is a strong 1080p card and a capable 1440p card once DLSS is in use. The 8GB of GDDR7 is the constraint in the heaviest campaigns, not the processor. The card has three DisplayPort outputs and one HDMI, so a second monitor is a simple connection. The processor is the one specification I would have liked to see upgraded. It is a 2024 Ryzen 5 8400F with six cores and twelve threads, boosting up to 4.7 GHz. In the games I have run it keeps pace with the graphics card and has not felt like a limitation. The same case i believe is also offered with an 8 core Ryzen 7, and that is the chip I would rather have had. The 6 core version is a reasonable way to keep the configuration in check, and for normal play I have not noticed it. It would be more apparent in a heavily modded simulation or any title that leans hard on the processor. Memory is the upgrade I plan to make first. The system ships with 16GB of DDR5. The board has four slots and supports up to 64GB, provided the modules are short enough to clear the cooler area. Sixteen is adequate to start. Thirty two is where I want it once Discord, a browser, and a launcher are open behind a game. A second module also enables dual channel, which improves responsiveness as well as capacity. I expect to add that in the coming weeks. Storage is a 1TB PCIe 4.0 drive, enough to install the games above with room left over. A second M.2 slot is open if the library grows, and SATA ports are available for a drive you already own. Windows 11 Home is installed, so the system is ready to use. The port layout is one of the stronger parts of this desktop, and the ports you use most sit on top of the case rather than on the front. USB C, USB A, a headphone jack, and a microphone jack are next to the power button. The rear panel adds a faster USB C, additional USB A ports, ethernet, and audio. Wired networking is gigabit. Wireless is Wi Fi 6, and Bluetooth is available for a controller or headset. Two way AI noise canceling is included for voice chat. I have not relied on it, but it is there. The included keyboard and mouse are the only weak point that I have noticed. They light up and they function, but I feel they are more in the basic category. I usually replace both on any system I use for longer sessions, so this was expected. Anyone particular about a keyboard or a mouse should plan on their own and should not judge the desktop by the accessories. My opinion only of course. Overall, I would recommend this desktop. It looks better than the specification suggests, it runs quieter than any of the ASUS systems I have owned, and the graphics card has been more than capable in the shooters I play and in the campaign games I used to test it. It is not a flagship, but to be honest, it does not need to be. It is a very well built gaming desktop with room to grow, and I would point someone toward it in a heartbeat.

Well Designed Mid-Tier Gaming Desktop - Bottom Line: This is a well-designed mid-tier gaming desktop that can handle most games at a FHD resolution at a respectable refresh rate. The single stick of 16 gbs of DDR5 ram and the older Ryzen 5 8400 processor are limited but they are adequate enough to play most games. The case and RGB lighting are top notch and the fans stay quiet even when the system is running all out. The RGB keyboard and mouse are an improvement over what most companies include in their prebuilt systems. The only thing I miss is the handle that Asus used to have built into their desktop systems. Components and Upgradeability: Asus kept the cost down by using a single stick of 16 gb of DDR5 ram that is fast at 5600 MHz and it’s enough memory for most games and business apps. If memory prices ever drop it is possible to easily upgrade the memory to dual 16 gb of DDR5 for increased performance. The storage is a 1 Tb M2.280 NVMe Gen 4 card which is fast and has plenty of storage for most users. There is a second M2 slot available for adding additional storage but it requires you to remove the video card to access the port. There are also Sata ports available on the motherboard for anyone who would like to add a 2.5” SSD drive or an old fashion hard drive. The chassis is very open but it does not offer much in the way of hard drive mounts so you will need to be creative. The AMD Ryzen 5 8400F is an older mid-tier processor that is adequate for game playing and most home apps. The Nvidia RTX 5060 is the best part of this gaming desktop. While the AMD Ryzen 5 8400F is a tad underwhelming the RTX 5060 is a good performer for a gaming desktop at this level. The system has 3 Display Ports, 1 HDMI port and multiple USB-A and USB-C ports on the top as well as the back of the case. The Asus Armoury Crate and My Asus software included allow you to control and monitor the system including updates, fans speeds and RGB lighting. It allows you set up gaming profiles that are tuned to your specific gaming needs. After setting up the system and going through all the updates I put it through some benchmarks to see how it would perform. During the benchmarks the fans stayed relatively quiet even when pushing the RTX 5060 hard. I played several racing games with fast moving backgrounds at 1080p and didn’t experience any issues. The fans over time got slightly louder but not annoying. The multiple fans and the open top ventilation kept the system relatively cool as well. The benchmark results are below. Geekbench 7 Single Core score = 2216 Multi-Core score = 10513 Open CL = 101129

Decent gaming rig - better platform for upgrades - Getting a good PC right now is arguably tougher than it's ever been thanks to parts shortages. A lot of people I know have switched their build/purchase strategies to starting small, with the goal of gradually updating parts over the next few years to hopefully reach their final spec. I mention this because it feels like the TUF TM700 really embodies this philosophy - providing us with a machine that for now is good enough but with the potential to become something much more impressive somewhere down the line. The specs here aren't likely to turn anyone's head. The CPU is a few years old and wasn't that great for gaming even when it was new. The GPU is on the lower end of the product stack. And the memory provided is merely acceptable. You don't even get dual channel memory, something that not that long ago would have been shocking from a brand like ASUS. I do commend them for balancing things quite well, as its actual performance with modern AAA games is actually solid even if it does need to lean on DLSS for some titles. I'm struggling to think of any big titles out at the moment which this machine just straight up couldn't play, even if some might not be able to run at their highest settings. But there's no denying that as a dedicated gaming machine, this is not an impressive loadout. What really redeems the PC for me though isn't the specs. It's the potential. This is a machine that was clearly put together with an eye towards upgradeability that you still do not get from a lot of tower manufacturers. It's using a Prime board from ASUS rather than an unbadged one-off, so there's room for plenty more memory. It's also using the latest AM5 socket design which AMD isn't expected to replace for at least the next couple of years, meaning it should be possible to drop in a much more modern (and powerful) chip. The board is set up to allow potential watercooling, as is the case which provides both radiator space and easy access to the back of the motherboard for potentially swapping out cooler mounts (though admittedly that's usually less important for AMD sockets.) And there is ample room both in the basement and behind the motherboard tray for a bulkier power supply. There's even a magnetic dust filter on the top and extra room on the supplemental fan controller. This is the machine you buy now because you can afford it and it'll do the job, then spend the next five years steadily upgrading into the beast you aspire to have. And I think that's definitely something a lot of people need in the current market. If that sounds appealing to you and you don't mind the distinctly gamer-y aesthetic of the TUF line, I think it's definitely worth taking a look.

Out of the box EXCELLENT Gaming PC - TLDR: Excellent prebuilt without bloatware. I have been building PC's since the 286SX days. Kudos to you if you know what that is. And I've been gaming ever since. I have owned and built PC's of all kinds, and I can say this is a very much appreciated prebuilt without the fuss, and clean build. Out of the box, you get a well safely packaged system. The wiring is clean, the system scratch free, every fan and button works accordingly. You get a keyboard and a mouse, pretty basic mouse, the keyboard I was pleasantly surprised was actually decent. You'd be surprised how much weird kinks you can get in prebuilt these days. Turning it on, it does take a good while to update everything. Make sure you are connected to the internet, update your drivers, your AMD software (Armory Crate) etc. The only thing I turned off was Onedrive, I find it annoying and unnecessarily sync / access my storage when I don't want it to. After that, I ran some benchmarks. I've included the benchmarks so everyone has a reference, this is out of the box performance. As you can see it's average to above average performance in these 3dmark benchmarks. This is important because most people who run these tests are enthusiasts and they tune their computer. Out of the box, this system is already performing up to par, if not better than the average computer. These tests were all ran in 4k. I am sure if I sit down and tune a few more settings, add a video card overclock like Afterburner, I can achieve even better scores. I was very impressed with the out of the box experience. There's also left over expansion memory / storage slots, so you can self upgrade if you're comfortable doing so, and the chassis has alot of easy to access areas, which is much appreciated. Overall, more than enough for most college students. More than enough for the common gamer. Coming from ASUS's well known and respected line of TUF gear, this system lives up to it's name. Highly recommended!

Great as a all-around PC, good as a gaming PC - I got this ASUS TUF TM700 Gaming Desktop – AMD Ryzen 5 8400F – 16GB Memory – NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Dual 8GB – 1TB Storage – Solar Eclipse Gray with high hopes. And I wasn’t disappointed. I’m a minor gamer, mostly playing flight sims and the occasional FPS when my son needs to be schooled on the older COD games. I got this PC for gaming as well as other mundane tasks like word processing and web browsing. As an all-around PC, it works quite well. When I first opened the box, I was surprised at the actual size of this. The footprint is huge! I’m sure this helps with airflow inside the case, but you would want to keep that in consideration for placement. The case itself is a nice finish with a full glass front and side. The power button and the USB ports are all on the top of the case, in addition to the normal ports in the back. I was mildly surprised that a basic gaming keyboard and mouse were included with the computer. Most people getting this level of machine would already have a preferred setup. Still, nice to have. Even if it did bump up the weight and cost by a small amount. Setting up Windows was straight-forward and was quick to install all the updates. The included Wi-Fi antenna piqued my curiosity, but in actual testing, the wireless speeds were far lower than wired. I know this is very much network specific; however, the mesh access point is within 10 feet with no obstructions. I suspect the problem is that the Wi-Fi is not taking full advantage of my MLO network speed. Out-of-the-box, I find the computer very fast, snappy and fresh feeling. No lag that I’ve seen, even with some heavy processing going on. I installed a 4 TB storage drive, after finding where it goes. Turns out the opposite side panel from the glass also pops off. The power cables and mounting area are there, you just need to feed the data cable through the opening to the motherboard. I installed a graphics intensive flight sim game and did not see any issues with graphics hiccups or loading lags. Flight controls were responsive and without any delay. A few things may be worth considering soon after you purchase this computer, a larger M.2. or SSD drive as well as a RAM upgrade. There are 3 open RAM slots, with one 16 GB chip installed at the factory. Of course, both of those would cost more than most people’s mortgage payment! What comes installed should be fine for most people out there for now.
