SANDISK – PRO-G40 SSD 2TB External Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C NVMe Portable SSD – Black

Should have bought one years ago! - I’ve been doing more video editing and this external drive was a lifesaver for my MacBook which was filling up. I ended up offloading a lot of stuff and my computer runs amazing now! This was a pricier drive but it was considered one of the top options for video editing because of its speed. It’s so easy to use. I should have done this a long time ago. It’s ready to go for Mac just plug and use! The plug it comes with must be used with it to achieve the speed needed for video editing. Highly recommend this drive. Hard to believe 2TB is so small! Smaller than an iPhone.

Work great with Mac - I use this for my desktop Mac mini. Has worked find so far and has plenty of space for me and my family. Love the size. Does not take a lot of space on my desk. And very quiet.

Great so far, but definitely pricey - So far, so good! I haven’t had this drive for very long, but I haven’t experienced any issues with it yet. It’s fast, easy to use, and has worked well for storing and transferring my photography files. My biggest complaint is the price—it’s honestly kind of crazy for 2TB of storage. I’m hoping the higher price means better reliability and longevity. Time will tell, but so far I’m happy with the performance!

Very Fast IO - I use this for sound libraries and plugins on my Mac Studio Ultra via a Thunderbolt 4 port. Wicked fast !

overheats quickly and crashes my computer - if i can use the hardrive quickly, its fine but if i need to keep it plugged in for more than 15 minutes it overheats and crashes my computer

Having problems - When I connected to my Windows 11 Pc it wouldn’t show up, I went into device management and hard formatted to work. But that wasn’t my only issue. When this SSD connects it makes my computer SUPER slow for some reason. Shutdown won’t work when it’s plug in. Accessing the folders will crash explorer/ folders. But on my MacBook M5 max it works fine.

My pro G4 SSD 2 TB external thunderbolt - This external is wonderful. I enjoy it. It’s great for my studio. I recommended it for anybody.

Perfect SSD for my workflow! - I use this SSD for my editing workflow between my Mac Studio and MacBook Pro, and it makes everything super easy. I can work at home, unplug, and pick right back up on the go with no hassle. It’s really fast over Thunderbolt—I edit video straight off it and transfers are quick. The build feels solid too, so I don’t worry about taking it with me. If you’re moving between setups or working on the go, this drive is 100% worth it.

Beautifully Fast - Did not even know this existed while I was in the Best Buy store. It was exactly what I needed for my video editing software. My system was crashing before I got this. Need 10 more! LOL!

The fastest - I love it, is super fast for editing, the only problem is the price, a bit expensive on my opinion but if you can afford it defenetly worth it

Great for editing - Works great for editing off of. Editing200gb libraries in FCPX with no issues

SanDisk - PRO-G40 SSD 2TB External Thunderbolt 3 - Solid construction and TB3 compliant with a speed of up to around 2.8GB so far with only a few mounting problems at boot and am working with SanDisk to figure out why. Great drive but also would encourage considering USB4 drives as well.

Gave my old iMac new life - Honestly, I bought this because my old iMac was painfully slow. It took forever just to turn on, and I was getting really frustrated. After using this SSD, boot time is much faster and the computer feels usable again. It’s not a brand-new machine obviously, but the improvement is very noticeable. I’m glad I can keep using my old computer instead of replacing it right now. No regrets, it does exactly what I needed.

Great but power hungrY - Product works as intended but power draw is higher than other drives. At one point other accessories disconnected since the power allocated to a bus is often 15w

Great for photographers - Wanted something for business and family pictures for storage and it is great
